Kimal PLC is delighted to announce its new charitable partnerships with Primrose Hospice & Family Support Centre in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, and Tommy’s, a national charity based in London.
Primrose Hospice & Family Support Centre is an independent charity, offering care and advice to patients living with a life-limiting illness and supporting bereaved families in the North East Worcestershire area. Tommy’s is also an independent charity, focused on researching the causes and prevention of pregnancy complications, miscarriage, stillbirth, and premature birth.
Every year, Kimal nominates a chosen charity. However, this year Kimal wanted to extend its support to two. Primrose Hospice was a firm favourite amongst the team in Bromsgrove, where 250 of Kimal’s people are employed at the Company’s procedure pack manufacturing facility. Tommy’s was another popular choice, particularly amongst the Company’s remote sales teams, where improving maternity care is a strong focus.
Matt Press, Kimal CEO, said, “The Kimal team is passionate about supporting our local communities, and this year’s choices emphasise our commitment to supporting people in all stages of life. We already have a number of activities planned to raise money for our chosen charities, and we look forward to hearing all the fantastic fundraising ideas our people have.”
Hannah Isaac, Head of Corporate Fundraising at Primrose, said “We are delighted that Kimal have chosen to partner with us this year! We need to raise £1.95 million per year to continue providing our range of tailored support to everybody that needs our care within the local area. This would not be possible without the generosity of businesses like Kimal, who take the time to support us in any way that they can.”
Sarah House, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Tommy’s, said: “We are hugely grateful to everyone at Kimal PLC for choosing Tommy’s as one of their charity partners. We’re doing all we can through our research and support services to save more babies’ lives – but we can’t do it alone. With the backing of committed supporters like Kimal PLC, we can make faster progress towards making pregnancy and birth safe for everyone.”
Founded in 1987, Primrose Hospice is a small charity with a big community spirit. The charity has a Day Hospice providing a range of tailored support for patients, and its Family Support Service offers individualised support to adults and children, including a counselling service, benefits advice, and its living well service.

Tommy’s was founded in 1992 when two obstetricians at St Thomas’ Hospital in London – Dr Ian Fergusson and Dr Anthony Kenney – couldn’t and wouldn’t accept the lack of answers surrounding premature birth. Together with one of their patients, Lucy Nelson, they decided to start a campaign raising money for pregnancy research projects. The campaign grew into Tommy’s, which is now the largest UK charity researching the causes and prevention of pregnancy complications, miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth.
