Following our high commendation in the Hereford & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Champion Awards for our team’s dedication to patients during the Covid-19 Pandemic, we are pleased to announce that we have been recognised by the British Chambers of Commerce in their ‘UK Business Heroes’ campaign.

At the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, Kimal made the decision to commit 100% of our UK manufacturing facility and a significant proportion of our international facility, into producing equipment for the NHS. We created our specially designed Nightingale procedure pack, leveraging our experience and international supply chain to design and manufacture a purpose built procedure pack for the NHS Nightingale facility.

We also made the decision to commit 3 months manufacturing capacity of our CVCs to the NHS; for use in Critical Care to treat seriously ill Covid-19 patients.

In May, it was announced that the Covid-19 Pandemic had led to a shortage of dialysis machines and complimentary products in the UK, particularly for those patients requiring short term care in ICU. The Kimal Home Patients team were subsequently hard at work to help ICU teams overcome this shortage; ensuring that patients who perform dialysis at home could continue to do so, and ensuring uninterrupted dialysis for seriously ill patients in hospital.

The Kimal team also decided to lead by example and go the extra mile to help, donating a dialysis machine to Kings College Hospital in London for use during this period.

Our focus hasn’t been solely on manufacturing Kimal’s own products though. The Kimal team was approached by Shield Aerosol Protection who required a manufacturing and logistics partner for their innovative disposable AerosolShield™ Miniature Isolation Tent. We naturally offered our support, utilising our UK manufacturing facility to help meet the urgent requirements for this product, and providing a faster route to saving lives.

Everything that we have been able to achieve during the Covid-19 Pandemic would not have been possible without the dedication of our employees across all departments who share a combined passion and understanding of the difference our products make.
