Launch of the Kimal Academic Network

March 9, 2021

  • We’re pleased to announce the creation of the Kimal Academic Network, a new initiative which aims to create and develop new, innovative technologies for the advancement of patient care across the world.

Since its inception in 1964, Kimal has proudly maintained a tradition of forging strong relationships with clinicians, customers and international distribution partners; and these relationships have helped us provide innovative, life-saving products to patients in more than 70 countries worldwide.

As technology has progressed though and opportunities for improvements in healthcare have arisen, we have started to forge new relationships within academia so that we can continue to bring innovative products to market, improving patient safety. Local educational institutions such as the University of Birmingham have become key collaborative partners with Kimal, providing us with the knowledge, expertise, and state-of-the-art resources to bring innovative healthcare products to the market.

With the positive results already seen with this new model, Kimal has decided to increase the reach of our collaborations through the creation of the Kimal Academic Network which now boasts partnerships with at least eight universities across the UK; and has seen several projects being progressed already.

As part of this collaborative process Kimal has also been able to welcome PhD placement students who are looking to complete 1 -3 year projects with real-world healthcare implications, enabling us to support the next generation of innovators who will be bringing new and exciting technological advancements to the market, whilst providing us with early access to their research.
